4 months later
On the 28th of December, i passed the AWS Certified Developer Associate.
It was my first AWS certification.
I passed it after 4 months of studying while working my full time job as a Software Engineer Junior.
I passed it online with PSI which is one of the AWS test delivery providers (the other one is Pearson VUE).
Basically, you have to download a secure browser, and someone is monitoring you before your exam (you have to show your entire room, be alone ...) and during the whole exam.
I used mainly two ressources to pass this certification.
The AWS Certified Developer Associate path from ExamPro
The AWS Certified Developer Associate Practice Exams from Tutorials Dojo
Cost : $21.00
You have detailled videos about each section that you need to study for the Exam.
Flash Cards and small Quiz after each video help you retain the important informations.
You have super detailled cheat-sheets for every service.
The content is well explained, super clear, it's easy to track your progress, you have a "Readiness Bar" to see if you are ready to take the exam !
And also, you have an exam test to help you prepare.
Totally worth the price !
Practice Tests by Tutorials Dojo
Cost : $14.99 USD
After taking the exam test from ExamPro, i wanted to take some others to really be prepared for the exam.
I heard about these practice tests on Twitter and i decided to try it.
They are really amazing and super useful.
You have several sets so you can really prepare for the day of your exam:
-> TIMED MODE – mimics the actual AWS Certified Developer Associate exam environment under time pressure
-> REVIEW MODE – where you can view the answer and explanations after every question
-> SECTION-BASED TESTS – where you can focus and answer questions on specific topics/domains only
-> FINAL TEST – where we randomly generate 65 questions from our entire question bank to help you gauge your readiness for the actual exam
I found those tests harder than the actual exam, so definitely try them out.
Also, you a have super detailled reviews of your answers after each test, so even if you fail, take the time to understand the explanations, it really helped me understand some tough subjects.
Totally worth the price too !
Free resources ?
As you can see, i did not use free resources to prepare for my exam and i spent some money to help me prepare.
I did that because i needed some condensed content, easy to study, to track, because i was working full time while studying.
These programs really focus on the essentials, and help you achieve your goal super easily.
So if you are preparing for an AWS Certification, definitely check these resources out !
